Hi my name is Steve and I would like to introduce you all to Olivia. Olivia is my close friend Tom's daughter who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma when she was just 20 months old. Neuroblastoma is a rare childhood cancer that affects approximately 100 children in the UK every year. Myself and a group of friends are attempting to complete Tough Mudder 15K in June. We would love to be able to raise funds to send Olivia and her parents on a much deserved holiday after an extremely tough year! Olivia has had 30 days of chemotherapy, including induction chemo, maintenance and high dose chemo. She has been under anaesthetic 24 times for biopsies, various scans - MRI's, CT scans, Xrays, ultrasounds plus 14 days of radiotherapy. She has had 14 blood transfusions and 19 platelet infusions. She has had her own stem cells harvested and transplanted back. She has also had major surgery, a 6 hour operation to remove the majority of her tumour. She has spent 109 nights in hospital including 3 nights in the high dependancy unit, plus over 100 days in hospital. Olivia is currently undergoing Immunotherapy treatment which is due to come to an end in the next few months. We are all praying that she gets the all clear and will ring the end of treatment bell soon! After this we think Olivia, Rach & Tom all deserve a holiday and we would love to be able to raise enough money to treat them to a holiday. Tom and Rach haven't been able to work much in the last year, plus cost of living increasing, cost of parking at hospital, food and drink expenses at hospital etc. No parent ever wants to worry about finances when their child is sick & we would love for them to be able to go on holiday and make wonderful memories. Any funds received in excess of what is required or if it cannot be used to take Olivia on holiday for any reason, the money will be donated to a charity of our choice. All of your support would be really appreciated.
