Hi everyone!

On Friday, November 21st, 2025, my mother went grocery shopping at Thuan Phat Supermarket in Garden Grove. While she was selecting produce, a woman brazenly reached into her shopping cart and stole her purse. By the time she realized what happened, it was already too late.

The supermarket provided surveillance footage, which has since been shared widely on multiple social media platforms. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and the many people who have tried to help identify the woman responsible. We have filed a police report with GGPD, but at this time she is currently still at large.

I am creating this GoFundMe to help my mother recover from what was taken. Inside her purse was $800 in cash, all of her credit cards, her ID, and her cellphone. The $2,000 goal is to help cover stolen cash in her purse, the cost of a new phone, and the time and expenses required to replace her identification and important documents.

My mother lives a very simple life. She is 77 years old, retired, and caring for an adult child. Her only income is Social Security, and she supplements it by cooking and selling homemade meals—a craft she spends late nights pouring her heart into. She is warm, generous, and nurturing, and her former coworkers affectionately called her “Mama” because she always made sure everyone was fed. She's the type to give even when she barely has enough for herself.

This incident has been emotionally and financially overwhelming for her. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease her burden and remind her that she is cared for and supported. Thank you for your kindness. Happy Holidays.
