Holiday Help for Ukrainian Children

The conflict in Ukraine has caused the fastest and largest displacement of people in Europe since World War II. Since February, over 13 Million people have been forced to flee their homes. While exact numbers are hard to pin down in the fog of war, it is clear that tens of thousands of people have already died during this war.

Unfortunately, children are increasingly in the crossfire of this senseless adult war. Those who haven't fled deal with the constant threat of bombardment, shattered homes, or potential loss of loved ones.

As a toy store, Marley & Moose stocks products from two Ukrainian toymakers, Sabo and UGears. Sabo is located in Poltava, roughly halfway between Kyiv and Donetsk. UGears is located in Kyiv.

We have reached out to our partners and asked how we can most effectively help in this time of need. We initially thought to purchase toys at our wholesaler discount and distribute them for the holidays in Ukraine to bring a little joy. While a noble idea, we've been asked to contribute to more basic needs instead. As winter is fast approaching and infrastructure is under increasing attack, our partners abroad are asking for help with the basics, like food and shelter. With this fundraiser, we will donate the total amount raised to UNICEF.

UNICEF's emergency response teams and partners deliver water to families and communities and provide health care, nutrition, and education support. The focus is protecting children from violence, exploitation, and abuse.

In addition to this fundraiser, 10% of all Sabo or UGears toy purchases will indefinitely be donated to infrastructure relief in Ukraine. We have a unique connection to our brands and hope to do everything we can to support them. We hope you join us.
