On October 31st, Pamela started noticing weakness in her legs that slowly progressed over the next few days. This past weekend, she went to the emergency department at UVM Medical Center as symptoms progressed to the point of being unable to walk. Expecting to hear that symptoms were related to a pinched nerve, Pamela and Steve were shocked to learn that there was extensive cancer in her spine, and she was admitted to the hospital for surgery to decompress and stabilize her spine. Although we are waiting for her biopsy results to confirm, it is suspected that Pamela has breast cancer that remained undetected until she started showing symptoms due to the disease in her spine.

At this time, there are many unknowns for both Steve and Pamela. Anna White is serving as the point of contact for Steve and Pamela as they navigate this journey, and will be providing updates as they become available. Once it becomes clear what additional support might be needed, we will let everyone know, as it is clear how loved they are by so many in our community. We are collecting funds for Pamela and Steve to help support them while Pamela is unable to work, and to support any needs that arise as she navigates this health journey.
