Hi, my name is Kari Warner. It’s not easy for me to ask for help, but after a year of heartbreak, setbacks, and unimaginable challenges, I’ve come to a place where I need to lean on the kindness of others.
In January of last year, my husband lost his leg due to complications from diabetes. He was a truck driver and the main provider for our family through our small business, which we had to shut down after his amputation. Since then, I’ve become the sole provider for our family — and we’ve been fighting to stay afloat ever since.
We lost our main vehicle, and due to falling behind financially, my paychecks are now starting to be garnished. Earlier this year, I became seriously ill myself and had to take time off work to recover. Just as I was starting to get back on my feet, my husband’s health took another turn. Recently, doctors discovered a mass on his prostate.
To make matters even more difficult, our young son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and has already begun to lose his vision.
I’ve done everything I can to stay strong — for my husband, my son, and my job. I’ve drained my 401(k), and we are now facing the possibility of losing our home. Our utilities are on the verge of being shut off, and we are truly running out of options.
I’ve always tried to be the person others can count on, and it’s incredibly hard to be in a position where I need to ask for help. But if you’re able to contribute — no matter how small — or even share this with others, it would mean the world to me and my family.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer.
With love and gratitude,
Kari Warner
