Our Story & Mission

For 25 years Hold The Door For Others has been ahead of traditional grief and coping counseling. Founded by the Fazio family and friends in honor of Ronald Fazio, Sr. and his heroic acts of holding the door for others to escape on 9/11, we started out to match grief with growth. Hold The Door exists to challenge and equip people to grow through grief, adversity, and trauma. For over 2 decades we have used our research and experience-based resources to help people help themselves. You can read more of our story here.

Where Does The Money Go?

Your tax-exempt donation will go to the development, maintenance, and public outreach for our newest and largest initiative to date, Doora: Your Growth Guide. An innovative and supportive AI Growth Consultant designed to match grief with growth. Costs for this resource include developers, monthly time usage fees, and outreach to build awareness and reach people who need it the most.

Historically 89% our donations go to directly serving people in need. Since we started in 2002, we are proud to be an all-volunteer organization maintaining a streamlined structure and keeping administrative costs to a minimum.
