Nobody imagines having to writing something like this — but here we are, asking for help for two people who mean the world to us.

Renee Hogarth is currently in hospital, courageously fighting stage 4 cancer with more strength and grace than most of us could ever muster.

Anyone who knows Renee knows she’s tough — but even the toughest people shouldn’t have to fight alone.

While navigating that already overwhelming reality, life decided to pile on a little extra. Just days ago, Rick Hogarth — Renee’s husband, biggest supporter, and full-time rock — underwent a sudden and unexpected spinal surgery, Rick is still in hospital, currently unable to stand on his own, and will need physiotherapy before he can return home.

Right now, Rick can’t work, and he can’t physically care for Renee — even though that’s exactly where he wants to be.

Medical appointments, time away from work, travel, and everyday expenses don’t pause just because life gets hard, and the financial pressure is growing fast.

This fundraiser is about giving Rick and Renee one less thing to worry about — so they can focus on healing, strength, bad hospital coffee, and being together when it matters most.
