Hogan Strong: Starting a Family while Fighting Cancer
Donazione protetta
Dear members of the community,
I am reaching out to you on behalf of AFMA Firefighter's Charities to rally support for one of our own. Firefighter/EMT Nick Hogan has been serving the community for 8 years with Arizona Fire Medical Authority. During his time, many have learned to respect nick as a hard worker who doesn't like to stay still. Many associate his name with competition as he strives to excel any task he sets his mind to.
Firefighter Hogan has just started a journey unlike any he has faced. Recently he was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a cancer that develops in the bones. From what doctors have stated so far, Hogan is looking at a year long treatment plan of chemo and radiation therapy. Nick Hogan is strong willed, and he is ready to face this fight head on.
Unfortunately, this is going to be a battle from multiple fronts. Ewing Sarcoma is NOT one of the cancers that fall under HB2161 (Arizona’s presumptive cancer bill). AFMA Firefighter's Charities and the Authority itself is working hard to keep Firefighter Hogan covered on this front, while Hogan and his wife focus on his recovery.
There is still a third front to this battle. Nick and his wife Brandi are also soon expecting their first baby in September . We all know that parenthood is a stressful and enduring job, let alone the beginning of it. This leaves the Hogan family with a lot on their plate. We by no means are going to let them go through this this alone, we intend to give them every ounce of support we can muster. Part of which is financial support. This is undoubtedly going to affect Nick and Brandi's ability to work, on top of their new potential medical costs. We are asking for your support as no donation is too small. This will allow nick and Brandi to build their family and focus on keeping it Hogan strong.
Thank you for your support, time, and consideration,
AFMA Firefighter's Charities and the Hogan Family
