Hogan House Fire and Mona Hogan Legacy Fund

Donation protected
My name is Stephen Norberg. My Family and I have known the Hogan family for 20 plus years. Mona was an integral part in my 3 daughter's lives. Mona started taking care of my daughter's  at the age of 5 years old, 5 days a week, 10 months out of the year. Mona was their baby sitter, teacher, tutor,  confidant and most importantly a role model for 3 young women.  She was part of every school productions, promotions, holiday parties, sport events, Sunday dinners. She was well known in the Rossmoore Community and will greatly be missed.

On the morning of April 20, 2020, the Hogan Family home erupted into flames at 6:30 am and Mona Hogan tragically perished in her home. She is survived by her Husband Mike Hogan and their son Andy Hogan. Mike escaped the fire with minor injuries and lost the majority of their belongings. Only the garage went untouched.

At this time Mike Hogan only has the clothes on his back. It is going to be a long & difficult journey ahead for the Hogan Family. We are look to provide relief for temporary housing, clothing and funeral cost for his wife, Mona.  We are hoping to raise $10,000 for funeral expenses and $5,000 to provide immediate support for Mike.

We are hoping to raise the fund in the next two weeks  to support the Hogan family in order to lay Mona to rest and get the Hogan family back on their feet.

WOW!!!!  It is amazing how everyone has rallied to help the Hogan family.  We had set an initial goal of $15,000 and reached it already thanks to all of you.  This shows all the love for the family and the impact they have had on every one of us.  I have already shared some of the funds directly with the family and it has been a major help for the Hogan’s.

After talking with the family today they asked if I could share an update with you.  Mike Hogan was released from the hospital.  He would like to thank all the staff and doctors at UC Irvine Medical Center for 1st class care and treatment.  Mike asked that I tell all of you how appreciative and generous you are and wishes he could thank all of you in person.  His son, Andy, has been a rock star in dealing with the logistics of the situation.  It is amazing what Andy has been able to handle to help his dad while also grieving the loss of his mother and this week they would have celebrated her birthday.

This campaign has received so much love and support that I went ahead and raised the goal. We would like to thank you for your continued support and generosity with helping the Hogan family get back on its feet again and let’s keep it going.
