Hello and thank you for your consideration of aiding us in fulfilling our calling! My name is Jennifer Hoernig. I am a Masters level Social Worker and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA.) My husband, Kenton, is a 4th year Veterinary student preparing to graduate this coming May from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine. We are high school sweethearts who met at St. Vincent High School in Perryville, Missouri and now, at the age of 25, have been happily married for 4 years. We have recently been accepted for training to become FertilityCare Practitioners in the Creighton Model FertilityCare System. This fundraising campaign is to help us cover the associated costs of our training.
For anyone who may be unfamiliar with this:
The Creighton Model, a system of Natural Family Planning or NFP, is a natural and proven method for monitoring a woman’s fertility, avoiding pregnancy (99.5% method effectiveness), and achieving pregnancy. The Creighton model “relies upon the standardized observation and charting of biological markers that are essential to a woman's health and fertility. These biomarkers outline when the woman is naturally fertile and infertile, allowing the couple to use the system either to achieve or to avoid pregnancy. These biomarkers will also identify abnormalities in a woman's health and provide the basis of Natural Procreative Technology, a.k.a NaProTechnology. (http://www.creightonmodel.com) NaProTechnology “is a new women's health science that monitors and maintains a woman's reproductive and gynecological health. It provides medical and surgical treatments that cooperate completely with the reproductive system.” (http://www.naprotechnology.com) The use of this technology can help women identify and treat serious medical issues, such as endometriosis, polycystic ovarian disease, repeated miscarriages, other causes of irregular cycles, and more.
Our training consists of two sessions (Oct. 24th-31st & April 9th-16th) at the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in Omaha, Nebraska, along with 13 months of supervision by a FertilityCare Supervisor. The funds we raise will be used to reduce the costs of tuition, course materials, additional educational fees, and housing which amount to a total cost of $12,789.
While this one-time donation will help us achieve our goal of becoming certified FertilityCare Practitioners, we will use these skills to empower women and couples with the knowledge to understand their fertility. With this knowledge, they will be able to accurately and effectively avoid (as we have done for our four years of marriage) or achieve a pregnancy while being respectful to their bodies and their bodies’ natural processes--with the additional benefit of detecting fertility problems for treatment.
Finally, these are the reasons we love this system and we feel the calling to teach others how to use it:
· Very effective!
· None of the negative side-effects of contraceptive methods
· Easy to learn (minimal teaching needed, minimal reading necessary, etc.)
· Inexpensive to learn/free to use
· Learn for a lifetime of use
· Increased communication in the relationship and shared responsibility in family planning
· Respectful of the woman’s body and natural hormonal cycle
Thank you for your donations and support!
We welcome any questions and encourage further discussion! Feel free to contact us at anytime.
