Hoekstra Missionary Family - Medical Need

As many of you know I grew up in a missionary family with my grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles bringing the good news of the Gospel around the world. There are many sacrifices that are made when one devotes their life to missionary work. The result of these sacrifices can lead to financial hardship when difficulties in life arise. I want to share one of these difficulties with you in order to seek your help with prayer and participation in this Go Fund Me campaign.
My Uncle and Aunt, Paul and Dori Hoekstra, are heavily involved with the ministry, Talking Bibles International. The purpose of Talking Bibles is to give non-readers and the blind access to the Bible in their native language. Paul’s work requires significant travel throughout the year while Dori stays at home in Escondido, CA taking care of their three Elementary and Jr. High girls.
Dori has recently faced many medical issues resulting in the need for a hysterectomy. Unfortunately, there have been many complications with this procedure and the recovery resulting in many trips in and out of the Emergency Room. We are seeking prayers of comfort and healing for Dori as the doctors continue to evaluate her condition, procedures and recovery. We are also seeking prayer for the strain placed on the Paul and the girls during this trying time.
As a result of this situation, Dori’s parents will be traveling from their home in Hungary to stay in Escondido for the next couple months to support Dori, Paul and provide care for the girls while Paul is working.
The many complications of this situation are placing a financial strain on the family. I am hoping that this Go Fund Me can help alleviate some of that strain during this stressful time. Donations will be used to help the family with the medical bills and Dori’s parents' travel expenses.
Dori has always been incredibly supportive of Karlee, River and I in our lives and is one of the sweetest, kindest and loving people I know. Please help me reciprocate that love back with your thoughts, prayers and support.
