They say it's the small things that count in life... small like the 272.4 g/mol size of one estrogen hormone, or small like your £5 donation.

It's those small things that make each day (and Christmas day) worth getting up for, the small things that have been statistically shown to save lives of people who just want to feel comfortable in their own bodies.

As we approach the joyful season, my friend Charlie is taking the last of her hormone replacement pills. After six months of being unemployed/unable to work for mental health reasons, the financial struggle is real and universal credit barely covers food for her and her cat.

Charlie's hormones cost on average £225 per three month supply and consist of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone blockers. She should also be getting a kidney blood test every three months which costs £200 each time, but despite being on hormones for over a year, she has only been able to afford one of these blood tests so far.

Right now, we are just trying to raise enough money for the next delivery of hormones but if the fundraiser goes well, it would mean a lot if we could also pay for the kidney blood tests - four 'healthy' tests are required before Charlie is allowed to increase the hormone dose.
