My name is Amanda and on October 17th, I suffered 3 brain aneurysms, one of which burst. I had to be airlifted to Richland Hospital where I had 3 brain surgeries, 2 seizures, and 2 mini-strokes. I was on life support for 5 weeks. When I woke up, I had a trache and feeding tube. I worked really hard to talk and walk again. I finally achieved my goals in order to come home and continue recovery from here.
Of course, I can't work and can't drive for 6 months. I have multiple doctor's appointments every week, for which I need gas money to get there, as well as groceries for my household. I did apply for SNAP, but it's a process. Never in a million years would I ever think this would happen to me, but unfortunately, it did. Only by the grace of God and the power of prayer, I'm here today.
I hate to ask for help with anything, but due to me not being able to work, I'm struggling with gas to get to my doctor's appointments as well as buying groceries. Anything that anyone could help with—5 dollars, 10 dollars, anything at all—would be greatly appreciated. I realize it's close to Christmas, so if you can't donate, I truly understand. Just please keep me in your prayers as I still have a long road to recovery in front of me.
