We need your help

I am starting this fundraiser to get financial support for my sister Serita Edwards. If you know her you know that she is a giver and throughout the years has shown that she will help, support, and give to anyone. She has sponsored several back to school events braiding kid’s hair, giving away free hairstyles just for good grades or prom/graduation, and donated to help any and everyone. Her story… Serita is a 40-year-old single parent of a 2-year-old baby girl and 19-year-old son. She is the life of the party, smiling, laughing and dancing. She genuinely loves people and loves to help others so much that her business The Braiding Lounje regularly does free hairstyles. While vacationing with family, a lump was found on her breast when she returned home she went to the doctor’s office and a week after her 40th birthday Serita was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer; because of this diagnosis it was imperative that she start treatment right away.  She tried working at the beginning of the treatment and testing but the treatments were harsh and took a toll on her body. The treatments left her unable to not only care for herself but her daughter. She had to stop working, and being self-employed this meant that she didn’t qualify for any unemployment or short-term disability. Serita is an incredibly kind woman and a caring and compassionate woman. She has always been a supporter, friend, and best hair braider to many. She is a loving mother and an exceptional parent. This is a scary diagnosis and treatment is harsh but she has hope for recovery and eventually living a life cancer-free.
