On October 18th, 2015 as most of us were still sleeping Investigator Steve Sandberg, a local hero made the ultimate sacrifice. We could not be more proud or overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from our local communities. Most of us still remember where we were when we heard that one of our finest had been shot and killed. Too many people to count asked what they could do to help us, we are now calling on our community to help us honor our hometown hero.

In May there will be a ceremony in Washington DC during Police Week that will honor and remember Investigator Steve Sandberg and every other Officer who lost their life in 2015.

We are raising funds to help send some of our Deputies to represent Aitkin County and honor Investigator Sandberg.

This is the only year that Investigator Sandberg's name will be specifically mentioned at the ceremony.

Any funds raised above the cost of the trip will go to fund a permanent memorial at the Aitkin County Sheriff's Office.

Please help us honor our hometown hero and never forget the ultimate sacrifice he made.
