Help Me Honor Fluke & Rebuild My Home

March 14 would have been Fluke’s 12th birthday. Instead of celebrating with him, we're facing an empty home and lingering expenses from his final days.

Fluke wasn’t just a pet. He was my family. When no one else wanted him, I did. He had been through five shelters before I found him. In the three and a half years we had together, I gave him the best life I could. He was constantly surrounded by love—if he wasn’t with me, he was with someone very close to me. He always had the warm touch and cuddles of many humans. He even had a social life of his own—there were times when he went out with friends when I didn’t. He truly blossomed in these last years, becoming his own little person, full of confidence and joy.

Losing him six weeks ago has been devastating, and not just emotionally. Pet insurance didn’t cover everything—cremation, disposal, and other “non-essential” costs added up, plus I had to pay my deductible before insurance even kicked in. In total, I’m left with $2,400 in expenses from saying goodbye to my best friend.

I’m asking for $2,400 to help cover these costs, and if anything is left over, I want to rescue another dog. The silence and loneliness without Fluke have been unbearable. My mental health has taken a real hit, and without access to healthcare or therapy, the difference Fluke made for me was night and day. He gave me purpose, structure, and companionship when I needed it most, and I know that just as I gave Fluke the best years of his life, I can do the same for another dog who needs a second chance.
