I would like to first start off by saying a few words about my Step Father Mike Randall. Mike has one of the biggest hearts, he sure does love his family and friends. They bring him so much joy and laughter. Mike has one of the greatest laughs I’ve ever known, he can make anyone smile. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, riding his trike, and building anything from the ground up. Mike is the greatest Step Father, Dad, Husband, Son, Papa, Brother, Uncle and Friend that anyone could ever ask for. We are so blessed to have Mike in our lives. It is unfortunate that It has come to me having to write about this.
As most you already know, my step day Mike Randall has been fighting Stage 4 prostate cancer for the past 6 years. It started when he went in for a check up to get a rash looked at on his skin. Come to find out, that turned out to be Melanoma cancer. They did a bunch of blood tests and found out that he also has stage 4 prostate cancer. He started to get a Lupron shot that he had every 6 months to keep the PSA level down. His PSA had went from 49 down to a 0.5 as he went into remission. He was in remission for about 3 years, when he started to get really sick again. During that time the doctors found that cancer had spread throughout his entire body. He was diagnosed with Carcinoma Cancer, Basal Cell Cancer and Sarcoma Cancer which is a rare type of cancer that grows in connective tissue such as fat, muscles and bones. This last month he has been in and out of the hospital. During one of his last visits, he was told that he had 2 brain tumors which was causing his dizziness and making him pass out. Not only that, he was told he has major liver failure. It just keeps getting worse and worse.
Mike has decided to no longer do chemotherapy and radiation. He has been strong these last 6 years and is so exhausted. You all know how strong of a guy Mike is. We were told on Friday that Mike only has 2 weeks left. We did a parade over the weekend in front of the house and that smile on his face will always be remembered.
This is a really hard time for all us. We ask that you keep Mike in your prayers. Let’s all pray that he has no more pain or sick days and that his loved ones stay strong during this difficult time.
Mike doesn’t want to leave Pam with all of his medical bills and funeral costs on her own, so we are asking for any amount of donation to help. No matter the amount anything helps. Please know that Mike aka Papa Mike and Pam are very thankful and grateful for all the love and support from everyone.
Thank you all for your support. Much love.
