Team Fundraiser : Cheynelle Fraser and Gord Hannah
Goal : $15 000
Max Naiman, the hero of this story, is a 31-year-old man living in Trenton with his long-time partner Sharene. He is a twin brother to sister Phoebe, a loving uncle to Ruby and Jasper, and a dutiful son to his mother, Glorianne and dad, Gary. He works as a bartender at the Drake Devonshire in PEC where he is loved by staff and customers alike for his mixology skills and his warm demeanor. When he isn’t working or with his family, Max is outside. No matter the season or weather, our hero is always up for a hike or a fishing trip all across Ontario.
Last year our beloved Max was hit with a few curveballs. 2020 and COVID-19 was devastating to the hospitality industry, in which Max makes his living. Max stayed positive and made the best of these uncertain times and worked as much as he could. Throughout the season, Max began to feel run down and was plagued with a persistent cough. After a few scary moments and on the persistence of Sharene, Max searched for a diagnosis of his ailment. After a month of testing, the doctors finally concluded. Max has lymphoma. He needs to start treatment immediately. Chemotherapy in Kingston, assessments in Toronto and 6 months of fighting for his life.
To say that Max is all heart is an understatement. He is the very definition of a person who you want on your side in a fight. This time, however, its Max who needs help and it is up to us, all of us, to rally behind Max and help him win this battle with Lymphoma. Donate to help Max and Sharene keep their life on track as they navigate these tough times. The hospitality industry does not have sick days, we need to pull together and help Max get through this so he can fight and beat this thing.
Donate if you can, we appreciate all the help and 100 % of funds raised will go to Max and Sharene to cover their living, travel, and medical costs. If you cannot donate, please share this message. We are hoping to reach as many people as possible to help Max get to the next chapter in his story.
Updates:
Max started his first treatment of chemotherapy in late February and will continue to do so every 2 weeks. We will keep you updated with his battle and thank you in advance.
