Hello Everyone,
My name is Chantel Bennett. I am currently residing in Texas and while I wish I was in Jamaica with my family to help during this trying time, I am asking for help on behalf of my family in Jamaica, who are facing unimaginable hardship after Hurricane Melissa.
Like many families across the island, we are trying to recover from the severe storm damage — but in the midst of the chaos, tragedy struck even harder. During the hurricane, my uncle’s home caught fire and burned to the ground, leaving him with nothing. His house was completely destroyed, and he is now starting over with only the clothes he had on.
We are truly grateful that his life was spared, but the emotional and financial loss is overwhelming. At the same time, other members of my family are dealing with serious damages to their homes, loss of belongings, and ongoing hardship as Jamaica recovers.
Any funds raised will be spent helping with emergency housing and shelter for my family, clothing, food, and basic necessities, rebuilding materials & repairs and helping my uncle restart after losing everything.
Jamaicans are strong and resilient, and my family has always been the kind to help others — now they are the ones needing help to rebuild their lives.
Anything you can give — whether it's $1, $5, $10, or even a share — will definitely bring my family one step closer to stability, safety, and recovery. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more than words can express.
Thank you for standing with my family during this difficult time.
With much gratitude,
Chantel
