Hi, my name is Dom, and I am raising money for St. Margaret’s Hospice in Clydebank to honor the incredible care they provided for my father-in-law, Alex Cameron, during his final weeks. After a courageous 19-year battle with cancer, Alex spent his last days in the hospice, where the staff went above and beyond to make him and our family as comfortable as possible. Their compassion and dedication were truly amazing, and I want to support them so they can continue offering this incredible service to others in their final days.
To do this, I will be attempting an Ironman 70.3 – despite having next to no swimming experience! For context, this challenge includes:
A 1.2-mile swim, equivalent to 76 lengths of a standard 25-meter pool.
A 56-mile bike ride, roughly the distance between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
A 13.1-mile run, the same as a half marathon.
All back-to-back, in one day.
It’s a daunting task, especially since swimming is not my strong suit, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by the patients and families who rely on the hospice. Every donation will make a real difference, ensuring St. Margaret’s can continue providing their incredible care and support.
Thank you so much for your support it means the world to our family and to everyone who benefits from the work of this amazing hospice.
