Help build flood defences at the animal hospice.

Donation protected
My name is Zara and I have started this Go Fund me campaign to raise funds to help repair the damage caused to The Maggie Fleming Animal Hospice caused by torrential flooding and to build flood defences to prevent future incidents like the one we had to deal with yesterday. The hospice is owned and ran by Alexis Fleming who provides support and  responsible, compassionate end-of-life care to terminally-ill companion animals who have been abandoned in the final stages of their lives and would otherwise die alone in a pound or kennel, and to farmed animals who would otherwise die in a slaughter house. She has no government funding and has built the hospice from the ground up out of her own pocket and the kind donations from supporters. It is the first purpose built animal hospice and is a truly remarkable place to be. The love, kindness and compassion shown to all animals is absolutely heart warming. Alexis has faced so many battles to keep the hospice afloat, especially in this last year, all whilst battling a chronic and debilitating life threatening condition herself. She is an absolute angel on earth and puts her animals, or her "pals" as she calls them before anything and everything. Yesterday when her house was flooding and she was standing in 3 inches of water in her kitchen all she cared about was her pals and getting them into safe and warm surroundings. I put up a post asking for help for her and people came in their droves, for which we are all truly grateful. Today as soon as it was light, Alexis went out to survey the damage. It is extensive and will cost thousands of pounds to repair. She will also need to build flood defences to make sure this never happens again. Her own house is falling to bits but all she cares about is that the hospice is water tight and her animals are safe. So I have taken the decision to start this go fund me to raise money to help make that happen. Every penny will be spent on damage repair and flood defences to keep the animals and hospice safe. I know times are tough right now but every single penny really does count. Thank you for reading and please feel free to spread the word of the hospice and this go fund me campaign.
