Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Mind (NAMH) and every donation will help.
Last year in January 2023 I ran 5km every day in aid of cancer research in honour of a family friends passing. This year I want to do the challenge again in aid of MIND which is another charity that is very close to my heart. However, this time it’s harder. This time I will run 5km every day for the first week of January, 6km everyday for the second week, 7km every day for the third week, 8km everyday for the fourth week and for the final 3 days I will run 10km every day.
I have decided to raise for MIND because of my past experiences with my mental health and for other members of my family. For the past 4 years I have struggled with anxiety and OCD which has really affected my way of living. There was a time when I would never of thought that I would be capable of doing what I am doing now. I want to show people that there is always time to improve your mental health and there is always people that can help you through it.
Any contributions are appreciated and I hope you will follow along through the month to see how I get on. Thank you.
The first week is complete!
It has been very, very tough.
On Thursday night I was in London with my school and didn’t get home until 11:45pm, I did my 5km run on the treadmill from 11:50-12:30am. It was very hard but I pushed through and completed my 2nd ever fastest 5k of 32m40s outside in the cold.
Tomorrow we move onto a week of 6km runs!
This is where the challenge starts to step up!
End of the 3rd week!
I completed the 2nd week which was 6k everyday and it was becoming really really good for me to run I was feeling really good all week. Moving onto the 3rd week which was 7k everyday I was still feeling really good however on Friday I had a really tough run but I got through it and completed the 7k. Yesterday I was in Scotland climbing Ben Nevis and we summited in the worst weather I have ever seen. It ended up being 15.4km when I was meant to only be doing 7k. Todays run was really really tough as I was so achey after the climb yesterday but I took it slow and did a slow run. It’s been a tough week for the 7ks but we are nearly done so I’m not stopping now, I will keep pushing on.
8km here we come.
End of the 8km week!
I have just completed my last 8k, I hiked up and down box hill 5 times this morning from7:30-10:00 which added up to about 7.5km but I felt like I hadn’t done enough of a run so I came home and ran 2km on the treadmill. This week has been full of hard runs and it has been a real challenge but I did it, I made it through.
With just 3 days left of January, 3 runs to go, there is no way I’m giving up now.
10km tomorrow, 10km tuesday and 10km wednesday! Then the challenge is over.
