Final resting place for our father

Ernest mckinney was a father of 5girls and 2boys. He worked 2 jobs for most of his life and served in the US Coast guard for 8 years. He worked very hard to support his family for a good portion of his life. Around the age of 45 years old, dads career at blue cross and blue shield came to a hault. The company downsized and decided to "let him go". Ever since then our dad has had a pretty difficult life. Dad moved to FL around 2000 to try and start over, but began having some medical issues. Minor issues at the time that involved a colostomy that he went to have reversed. Eventually Dad went into the VA Hospital in Gainesville FL for a routine bladder stone removal on February 6th 2023, and ever since then he fought hard to stay alive. He was diagnosed with stage 4, metastatic pancreatic cancer, that had metastasized to his liver, thyroid, and other vital organs. We had had no idea. This was such a big shock to our family. Dad also had a metastatic bowel obstruction and had been fighting off infections from the bladder stones. The hospital told us that he was "not a surgical candidate" and they were saying that there was absolutely nothing that they would do for him. They said that there was nothing that anyone would do for him period. Our dad was also processing this information, because he too had no idea. After nearly 3 weeks of fighting, our dad gave his final breath on Sunday February 26th at 8:15pm. Now our only wish is to place him here in NC, where he desired to be for over 2 years. Please help support the family in honoring our father’s last wishes. The goal is to raise at least 8,000 to help lay him to rest beside his mother and his father, which he told us were present in his last moments.
