Hi, I'm Amy, and I'm currently raising money to be able to survive. Yes, it is that simple. I have been out of full-time employment for over a year and a half, and have struggled to make ends meet. I have been very reliant on my ex-partner who has helped me pay my rent, but that isn't sustainable for him nor I.
I have applied to hundreds upon hundreds of jobs that I know I am more than capable of doing, but haven't heard back from a single one. I haven't had a single interview, nothing.
On top of that, my disabilities continue to get worse, and I am running on fumes most days. I have been doing freelance work for a while, but with the game journalism industry the way it is at the moment, that is inconsistent at best. For example, I'm working for a site that pays me $5 for an article. Which, considering I'm in the UK, doesn't exactly give me a whole lot to work with.
I am now on partial government aid which covers the majority of my main bills, but doesn't cover any food I may get or OTC medication I may need to buy. I am still in the process of applying for PIP.
The money I'm raising will be going towards paying my rent and paying for me to get to my medical appointments.
Trust me when I say I do not want to have to do this, but if I don't, my family and I will not be able to live in this house anymore, and I don't want to be homeless a second time.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for donating.
Update:
I have had small jobs here and there which gives me some money, but in doing so it means that my government aid is reduced any time I earn money, as they perceive you as not needing anything more than what you get. I could really do with some help, and honestly, I hate to even ask. It brings me so much shame to be bed bound and having to beg for help.
