Our beloved Labrador, Dexter, went missing on his walk on 14/01/21. Since coming into our lives 7 years ago on my daughter's 12th birthday, Dexter has brought us nothing but happiness. He is an extremely special member of our family and we will do absolutely everything we can to bring him home.
Without confirmed sightings of him and following the advice given to us, we have had to consider the devastating possibility that he has been stolen.
Despite this, we refuse to stop looking for him in the hopes that he may still be out there. Therefore we have continued to respond to possible sightings and perform thorough searches of dense woodland and rural areas where he could be over the last 6 weeks.
So far the response to our social media campaign has been incredible and we are completely overwhelmed by the support towards our family during this awful time. We have had offers of donations towards resources and we feel setting up a GoFundMe is the most transparent way to accept contributions.
The money raised will go towards the ongoing costs of resources that will aid us in finding Dexter. This includes purchasing more wildlife cameras, thermal imaging equipment, bringing in professional trackers and covering printing costs of thousands of leaflets and posters.
Even after Dexter is home we want to continue our campaign to provide support for those going through the same experience as well as continuing to raise awareness regarding missing and stolen pets. Whilst going through this experience we have become disturbed by the growing numbers of stolen pets and we know how difficult it can be to get enough resources. Therefore the money left over, alongside all the equipment we have purchased ourselves, will be donated straight to charities who support owners through losing their pets.
