Support local
How can we support community workers still going to work and local businesses at the same time? Everyone is feeling the effects of this epidemic. Lots of small local businesses are hurting. Healthcare workers, postal workers, firefighters, paramedics, grocery store and gas station workers in addition to lots of others (too many to name) are keeping our communities running.
This page has been set up to support local. For starters, donations will be directed to Rapid Rick’s Bar and Grill in Nicollet. We will start with them and see where this goes. In order to support our community workers all donations will go to free meals prepared by this local restaurant, Rapid Ricks in Nicollet. These meals will be delivered to local community service workers starting with nursing staff and postal workers. The possibilities are endless and we would love to extend these meals to as many community workers as possible depending on the amount we are able to raise. We would love other suggestions for who would accept donations. Naomi will be contacting clinics, hospitals and post offices to take orders and deliver these meals as long as this quarantine allows using universal precautions in order to keep in compliance with social distancing guidelines and reduce the risk of spreading infection.
Please feel free to donate even if it is a little bit. Let’s show our community how much we appreciate them and support our local businesses and community workers during this tough time.
