The WI Hmong Family Strengthening Helpline (Helpline), a program of the Black and Brown Womyn Power Coalition is kicking off its week-long fundraiser with the Reflect Resist Remember : Heal Together Concert on Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 at 6pm.
The Helpline continues to provide critical services in time of COVID-19th by providing 24/7 access to peer counseling, resources, information and referral to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, their friends, and families, and to victim service providers and their advocates.
The Hmong Family Strengthening Helpline is a one of a kind Wisconsin based Helpline with national reach. It receives hundreds of calls a year from Hmong womyn, girls and Queer/Trans people seeking support for intimate partner violence, domestic violence and other gender based violence. People calling the Helpline reaches a live person 24 hours a day and is directed to their local culturally specific organizations for help.
We are raising funds during this month to highlight the need to support services for Asian American womyn survivors. In light of the numerous anti Asian violence, this Helpline has been an essential, anonymous and safe resource for survivors of hate and violence in our community.
The fundraising goal of $10,000 will ensure that the Helpline can reach even more people in our community by having additional support for our outreach efforts. Join us in making a difference.
***Dollars raised during our live concert event on Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 at 6pm will be matched by domestic violence/sexual assault advocates and providers. If you are a advocate or is someone working in a victim services relating organization, you are welcome to donate to our matching pool linked here: http://bit.ly/AdvocatesMatchFund)
