Wonderful Joe and his family

Update:  We lost a treasure on Sunday. Joe was charming, generous, gregarious and kind-hearted; and he had a gift for turning strangers into instant friends. To his beloved Amy and the rest of Joe’s loved ones, we send you our deepest condolences. May his memory be a blessing.

If you’ve spent any time in the MJCC cafe, you probably know Joe Mussabini. He most likely greeted you or asked what he could get you or just wanted to know how your day was. “He spent his life taking care of other people,” said Allen Levin, his friend of more than four decades. “Even to say hello to someone, he wouldn’t sit. He would insist on standing up.”

Joe has been diagnosed with ALS and his symptoms have progressed rapidly in the last several months. He is now at home with his loving wife, Amy. We are raising money to help Joe through this difficult time and for his family. The funds will be distributed by Joe’s good friend, Allen Levin.
