Meet Theodore, affectionately known as "Teddy." He is an eight-year-old gelding Hackney Pony with special needs searching for a loving home. Teddy is a sweet boy who LOVES people. He is healthy with the exception of uveitis. He is completely blind in one eye and the other has an estimated 2%-5% remaining vision. The veterinarian who has cared for him through his vision loss, highly recommends that the eye with a limited remaining vision be removed due to irritation and swelling, unlike the other eye, which is stable. The cost of such an operation is $1,500. Before Teddy can be placed in his forever home, we are hoping to raise funds to have this procedure completed so that a new caretaker will not have to incur this expense and it will be easier to place him.
