Hello friends and family,

As many of you may already know my mom, Tammy, has recently suffered multiple strokes. She was hospitalized at Abbott for nearly 2 weeks where she received excellent care and daily therapy. As a result of the strokes, she has endured damage to the right side of her body including the loss of movement to her arm and hand along with weakness in her leg and some impaired cognitive functions. While she has already regained some of her strength in her leg, it is unknown for the future of her hand and arm.

She was discharged Saturday and is recovering at home now. She will have a long road of recovery ahead of her as she continues intensive Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapy multiple times weekly.

Due to the present damage and the nature of her job she is currently out of work for an unknown amount of time. As you can imagine, this weighs heavy on her and her husband, Darin, as they become a 1 income household.

I am asking for help to lighten this burden on them as they get adjusted to this new life. Any amount you can give, share or positive thoughts sent her way will be greatly appreciated.
