I am trying to raise some money for my sweet friend Jessica and her family. This is her story....

"So not to many know but I had the sweetest little boy February 17th 2025. Everything went pretty smooth with pregnancy and delivery. We became a happy and beautiful family of four. Big brother was excited and confused. Dad was over the moon and in love at first sight. I was over the moon with all the love and addition to the family. I started to have high blood pressure issues immediately after birth and was struggling with breast feeding. We went home and I was put on medication all seemed to be looking up. We were still struggling with latching and breast feeding though. So we decided to switched to exclusively pumping and bottle feeding breast milk. We were doing a little better but still struggling with eating and seemed uncomfortable alot of the time At our first week appointment we seemed healthy but we had lost weight. We set up a two week appointment for weight check again with plan to feed more frequently. Second week appointment comes around gained weight but still not where we would like to be. We also had developed a squeaky sound that never really went away. We brought it up and that’s where our world begin to flip upside down. We went from the appointment to the ER as his oxygen levels were getting scary low and seemed to be working extra to breathe. From the ER in Pagosa we were transferred via ambulance to Durango NICU. While there he was put on oxygen but was still struggling to breathe and eating without aspirating. They transferred us to Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs via care flight plane. So we were able to get more intensive and knowledgeable help. We have now been here for a month. We have found out he has a weak trachea causing breathing and eating issues. We have been on high flow oxygen and a feeding tube. He has a pretty rare case so it’s taken a while to figure out what is going on. It also is changing still daily. We are still working on a plan for oxygen for home once discharged. We go in the morning to have G Tube placed. Once we hit 5kg we’re hopeful to be approved for a CPAP machine that can provide his oxygen. He will also, as of now, need round the clock care. Ryder and Andrew had to go back to Pagosa to resume school and work. Me and Beau are still up in Colorado Springs indefinitely. Which has been incredibly hard on us all being separated. So that is the latest update on my and my families life.
