My name is Sarah and I’ve set this up on behalf of my sister-in-law, Megan, and my brother, Jake. Over the past few weeks, my brother’s health began failing, and he ended up needing life-saving emergency surgery at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. He has over a month of recovery ahead of him, including close monitoring and physical therapy to regain his strength. Megan is currently living in and out of a hotel in NY. The hospital’s housing is full, and she is running out of options to secure a place for herself to stay that will also be suitable for Jake once he is able to be discharged in a few weeks, all while paying their rent back home. I am trying to help them make a dent in the costs that insurance refuses to help with, as it has been overwhelming enough to almost lose him.
