Brooks has had some complications now a few weeks after his surgery. He had been doing really well and everything seemed good after his check up on Friday but I noticed he was unable to urinate since Saturday sometime. We went to the vet today and it looks like he's going to need another surgery.

There must have been a lesion in his urethra from his fractured pelvis and since the surgery that has sealed his urethra shut, preventing him from urinating. This is obviously quite a serious problem and I'm waiting to hear back from the vet tomorrow about what our options are for him.

I hate to do this after everyone was able to do so much for him just the other week but if anyone has anything they can spare right now we have seen how far it can go. He really deserves this life, he's been trying so hard and has recovered so well from his initial surgery, it's really not fair to him.

Hi, my name is Kyle. I'm the father of a sweet little Mini foxie/chihuahua named Brooks. Unfortunately he got out of our yard the other morning and was struck by a car. He's been at the vet and he's stable but in need of surgery as his pelvis has been fractured in the incident. Brooks has played a huge part in the lives of everyone who's had the pleasure to meet him around Brisbane and even more so anyone with the pleasure to live with him. He's a good boy who's been struck with unfortunate circumstance and without surgery its likely he will be left with debilitating injuries and will have to be put down.
