Hi, My name is Tara and I am a twin :)
My twin sister, Nicole, is pregnant with twins! They are currently a family of 5, with 2 twinkies on the way...
Normally a time of such joyful excitement, the anticipation of baby boy Adrian, and baby girl Aliana, brings our family a mixture of both happiness and grief.
Nicole has a history of pre-eclampsia and DIC, making this a very high-risk event for not only the babies but for their mom as well. She is currently approaching 26 weeks, and already there is great cause for concern.
The baby boy (Adrain) has several medical issues, including DS and IUGR. He is very very tiny, <1% of where he should be. There is a very strong possibility that he will not survive to the age of viability, which in his case would be closer to 28 weeks as opposed to 26. Due to these factors, they caution that he might not make it, and might be stillborn, but we know that anything can happen if it's God's will. As of now, even though his dopplers show his cord blood flow is at times reversed, and even periodically absent, he continues to show slight gains... so we pray for his highest and best outcome.. trusting and having faith.
Because this is a twin pregnancy, this puts healthy baby girl (Aliana) at increased risk of everything from premature delivery to also being stillborn. As of now though, she is happy, healthy, growing normally and showing no signs of distress.
The timing of this pregnancy is rough.
The family of 5 lost their long-term housing last year, and they have been in transition ever since. They were living out of state across the border in NE, but the hospital there isn't equipped to handle such a high-risk pregnancy or birth. They now need to relocate to Denver due to the level of care needed, as well as the anticipation of the babies needing a high-level NICU for several months. They are currently driving back and forth every few days while Nicole goes in for monitoring of her clotting factors, fetal heart rates and cord blood flow checks. When they are in Denver, they are staying in hotels, juggling kids and searching for suitable housing. It's a lot for a large family with littles. Even more for a high-risk mom pregnant with twins! They are really in a pinch.
We are asking for help raising funds to assist with hotels and child care while Mom and babies are in the hospital ( no kids are allowed ) transportation and stable housing once the twins are delivered and able to leave the hospital.
Thank you all in advance!
Your generous donations will help give this family some peace of mind so they can focus on their new arrivals and the health of their mom. Your prayers are always welcome and accepted!
