Hello, my name is Charlotte Wilmshurst and I am starting a GoFundMe for a very loved member of our community and his beautiful family.

For those of you who don’t know, Peter Wood was diagnosed with an aggressive stage 4 lung cancer in November last year. Since then, the cancer has spread throughout his body. Peter has faced this battle with incredible courage, enduring chemotherapy and immunotherapy, always holding onto hope, but has recently received the devastating news that the treatments are no longer working and there are no further medical options available.

This has come as an unimaginable shock to his family and loved ones, especially given how little time he has had to fight. No family is ever prepared for news like this. Right now, the focus is on surrounding Peter with as much love, comfort, and dignity as possible, easing the financial burden that comes with ongoing medical costs and time away from work, and helping give him the farewell he so deeply deserves, when the time comes.

Peter is not only an amazing husband to Jo and a devoted dad to Georgia and Max, but also a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and a dear friend to so many of us. He is the kind of person who has always been there for others, and his kindness, strength, and love have touched more lives than he will ever truly know.
