Help for Baby Omar
Donation protected
Baby Omar was born on Thursday September 24th via C-section at 37 weeks with a host of medical issues. This beautiful baby boy has Down syndrome, transient myeloproliferative disorder (otherwise known as transient leukemia), an enlarged liver, and breathing pattern anomalies. Transient leukemia is a rare disorder that is more prevalent in infants with down syndrome, and it comes with a 20-30% of developing leukemia later in life if the baby survives the initial period after birth.
Omar was immediately airlifted away from his mother to a children's hospital where his complicated medical issues could be addressed. He started chemotherapy on his first day of life, and he may face a blood transfusion if his condition doesn't improve.
Mom, Onika, is a hard-working single mother who could use some help. Big brother, Lamar (2), is eager to hang with his baby brother and for him to get well.
Anything you can contribute towards Omar's medical bills would be greatly appreciated.
