Dad, yn ein calonnau am byth xxx

On the 20th of July, my best friend Alaw and I will be taking part in the Aintree half marathon in memory of my incredible dad, who sadly passed away in May after an 18-month battle with laryngeal cancer. The same cancer that took away his voice, something that we all take for granted.
Back in March, I signed up for this half marathon with the hope that dad would be strong enough to come and support me on the day. Sadly, that moment will never come — however with the encouragement of my very special family, I have decided to take part regardless in his memory.
Throughout his journey, we took great comfort in a truly special laryngectomy support group, Life after Lary. This group not only provided practical advice but also gave us a sense of community and hope when we needed it most.
I’m raising money to give back to this incredible group so they can continue supporting other patients and families affected by head and neck cancer. Every donation, no matter how small, will help fund vital resources, emotional support, and life-changing care.
While my dad won’t be there at the finish line, I’ll be running every mile with him in my heart — and for every person and family who finds themselves facing a similar journey.
If you are able to donate or share, it would mean the world.
