Kidney Disease & Transplant
Donation protected
Hello my name is Tiana Bray, Female 23, and I have been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, since 2019.
During my 3rd year intern as a Nurse in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea, I kept getting sick. On my return to Port Moresby, I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney disease.
Working as a full-time nurse, I had no energy, was tired all the time and losing weight.
I come from a family history of high blood pressure. High blood pressure and diabetes are the leading causes of kidney failure. This was what has led to my diagnosis of Kidney disease at age 23.
Last year, I was taken to the Philippines to see if there was anything that could be done to treat my kidney’s in the hope that I would recover, however, we were informed that both my kidneys were or are failing and eventually I will need to be on hemodialysis, which would then mean that I will need a kidney transplant.
I have been admitted to Port Moresby General Hospital Kidney ward, since October 2022, and do dialysis 3 times a week, at Pacific International Hospital, which is quiet costly.
In the last few weeks my kidneys have failed causing me to go into ICU to have my lungs dried, chest cleared and excess fluid drained.
There are days when I struggle to breathe as well as sleep at night due to the fluid build-up. My symptoms are ongoing and will get serious.
Days in the hospital are weary, however, my constant prayers, faith and hope and will to recover, is what has kept me this far.
I would be most grateful from the bottom of my heart for all donations I am to receive, to be able to get my transplant in the Phillipines.
I have the utmost faith in God that I can live a healthy happy life after my transplant.
Thanking you and Bless you.
