Hi! My name is Rowena and I set up this fundraiser for my baby sister who just got diagnosed with aggressive stage 3 triple negative breast cancer. Shortly after finding out she also carried the BRCA1 gene mutation, she started scheduling appointments for prophylactic surgeries but unfortunately cancer beat her to the punch. I know this battle all too well, but unlike myself, my sister does not have the benefit of amazing health insurance and paid time off for medical leave. She is about to undergo 6 months of very aggressive chemo treatments, followed by several surgeries, and possibly more treatments afterwards. The financial burden of going thru cancer treatments is tremendous, especially to those who don’t have all the means that some others are blessed to have. My sister is also a solo parent to my little 11 year old nephew. My parents and I plan to help them as much as possible, but I’m also asking for help to anyone who would like to contribute. Any contribution is greatly appreciated…. whether it’s emotionally, spiritually, or financially…. We are eternally grateful!
