2020 was a year of hardships that we will all remember for some time. On top of the stress that everyone was feeling between having to lockdown our country and change our way of life for months, my mom was one of the unfortunate people that contracted COVID-19. Now, a couple months later, we have learned of the even worse diagnosis of my mom having colon cancer. Right now the doctors are unsure if it is stage 2 or stage 3, but she will be undergoing surgery next week. On top of her being unable to work for some time, with the way our lovely medical system works in our country, she has racked up an enormous amount of medical expenses.
