Faith, was a 12 week old baby in the PICU at UNC hospital in Chapel Hill NC, she was born with a Congenital Heart Defect, at 4 weeks old she had to have her first open heart surgery, which fixed her VSD, and her Aorta, then she was home not even for a couple of weeks and she went to her Cardiologest appt and her dr found a Bicuspid aortic valve ( her valve is supposed to have 3 leaflets but only has 2) so we planned yet another open heart Jan 3 2017! Her surgeon told me her mother that she would have 50/50 chance of pulling through this one, as a mother I cried, balled even, the surgeon Saved her, she was alive but she was On ECMO that is a machine that pumps oxigenated blood to and from her heart and body, she was on the breathing machines as well, she was fully sadated! No crying came from her hospital Room, nor any movement as the team wanted her to fully rest and recover! her heart still was in complete heart block, when they turned down the ECMO her heart isn't fully healed so her blood pressure would drop, The top part of her heart was working but the bottom didn't, they pulled her off ECMO AND.....




She lost her battle with CHD Monday Jan 9 2017! She passed away! She was a fighter till God called her home! She's an angel and she's finally got her wings!
