Larraine's Road to Recovery

Hello! My name is Marissa and I am Larraine's daughter. I am raising money for my mother and our family in order to pay for medical expenses that were not expected. On November 6, 2015 my father rushed her to the hospital in per order of our family physician. With her inability to breathe she was at a very serious risk. While in the Emergency Room for a few hours and after multiple tests, the Doctor placed her in ICU for the night with intentions of being released within the week. As she stayed through the next two days her health level decreased and she fell further into the at-risk health level. On November 9, 2015 the doctors saw it best to sedate her as they found that she had Necrotizing Fasciitis (flesh eating bacteria) in her. That night the surgeon took her into surgery in hopes of taking as much of the flesh eating bacteria away. When the surgeon came to the waiting room to speak to my family he stated that he expected her to have at least two more surgeries along with there still being a high risk of future health problems. On November 12, 2015 the doctors took her in for the second surgery and left the wound open in order for the infection to dry out and leave. Within a few days the doctors spent hours placing a wound vac on her wound in order to keep any infection from spreading. Just this past Monday, November 16, 2015 doctors told us that she would not be coming home after leaving the hospital. Rather she would be headed to a rehabilitation center where the nurses would be able to have a constant watch on her wound and blood pressure.

My mother has not only my sister, my grandparents, and my father but she also has her granddaughter that she watches over while my sister attends college. We are extremely family oriented but she, she is what keeps my family glued together. She is the one we all go to, the one who is always willing and able to help to the best of her ability and without her life would not be the same. My family and I would be very gracious of any possible help that you may be able to help us with in this time of year. All of the money collected would go straight to medical bills.
