Help Rebuild

Hi, my name is Eve, (friend and colleague of Hilary McPherson). Together with Jenny (a family member of the three families affected), we are appealing for urgent assistance to rebuild homes and livelihoods for a unique and special family.

Most of you know Hilary Mcpherson.

She is a valued colleague, friend, Auslan Interpreter, advocate of the Deaf Community who has worked in the Lismore and Northern Rivers region for 30 plus years. A long-serving member of ASLIA (Australian Sign Language Interpreters Association) and a staunch advocate for social justice for the Deaf community. Aside from this, she is a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and much loved extended family member who is there for 'anyone' who needs her 'whenever' they need her.

Some of you may remember the plea a couple of years ago to help feed the Koalas at the McPhersons property in Swan Bay. Unfortunately, that property was tragically inundated entirely last week, including their beloved cows and calves.

 

This entire family needs our assistance NOW practically and financially after losing their homes, cars, possessions, and livelihoods in the recent Northern NSW floods.

 

They need to know WE are all behind THEM now in this time of crisis.

 

It is too soon to know what support may be available with government grants and insurance. Still, there is much work to clean up and establish new homes for more than one family in Swan Bay, Murwillumbah and Lismore. Many kind offers of assistance have been received already. Setting up this page to raise funds will go directly to the family to start to rebuild thier llives with your help.
