Here is story that we can all think about when we are sitting around at the thanksgiving dinner table giving thanks for all our blessings in life.
Ben Weatherly a 58 year old who has been a great friend, a great husband and a father who has done what it takes to provide for his family. Unfortunately about five years ago, Ben was laid off from his job and had a hard time finding something in his line of work. Therefore, Ben learned a new trade but unfortunately that meant he had to live out of state for two years to gain experience. He did what he needed to do to provide for his family. Ben finally caught a break and was hired on by a company in Los angles and was able to come home and commute. The Weatherly's have endured some really tough life lessons as we all do in life, but just when they thought life was starting to become normal again, Ben had a massive heart attack 5 weeks ago. On October 18th Ben was flown to UCLA medical center to under go a triple by pass. He was put on life support. He has had a feeding tube inserted, a trache put in to help him breath better and most recently, a feeding tube. Everyday is a new day with endless possibilities for Ben but it's a struggle. As of today Ben has been placed in a rehab center to try to learn to breath again on his own, to swallow and to try to learn to walk. Ben is a fighter and we are pulling for him as the doctors say he has several months of recovery ahead of him. Since Ben worked out of state it has come to the family's knowledge that disability has denied any payments and at this time there is little income coming into the Weatherly household.
Diane his wife, has had to return to work while hoping and praying Ben can only be in the best possible care while she lives 60 miles from his hospital stay. We are asking friends and family during this thanksgiving season to find in your hearts to give and fund to the Weatherly family, as I know they will be extremely grateful for any help that will come their way. Many blessings to all of you and hold and hug the ones you love because it is really true, none of us know when it can happen to us.
