Help Taryn and I Get To Scotland for School and Work

Since my girlfriend was in high school it has been her dream to attend Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland to study music therapy. She has worked so hard for so many years to be able to accomplish this amazing offer of admission and the time has finally come. I’ve also been accepted into an online program through QMU for a Master of Public Health, however, without funds I won’t be able to take up this endeavour and will be forced to defer my offer. The first step is acquiring funds to get to Scotland. I’ve always known I wanted to return to school after my undergraduate degree, so I am over the moon to share that I’ve been offered admission to this program.

We are currently in a tight spot to be able to make this dream a reality with the cost of tuition, visa application fees, healthcare surcharges, housing, vet documentation for our kitties who will be joining us, flights, amongst so many other expenses. The total costs of all of these factors for two people, totals to approximately $40,000 CAD. We are struggling greatly to afford to do so. This opportunity would mean the world for us, our future and our life together and there is nothing more that I want than to see us succeed and chase our dreams.

Additionally, my father's side of the family is from Scotland and I have a strong ties to the country for that reason. It has always been a dream of mine to travel there to visit and see the city and this is now a perfect opportunity for me to live in Scotland and get in touch with my ancestry and family members whom I have not yet met. Unfortunately though, in January, I lost my job due to medical purposes and have been on unemployment insurance for the last several months. This means that Taryn has been the sole provider for our household, and that we are currently living in a low income household. This has created additional challenges with allowing us to pursue this opportunity.

We are reaching out today, in hopes that this will reach the right audience and help us gain support for our GoFundMe page to allow us to take adventure together.
