A safe and secure home

Hello, My name is Kris Hubbard. I'm a Farmer, a Seed Keeper, and a Teacher. But most importantly, I'm a Husband and a Father.

As part of my life's work...

*I mention this all, because it's been my life's work in helping others who may have fallen on hard times.... those who have needed a helping hand...or even a listening ear....

Now my family are the ones in need of help and who have fallen on hard times.........

So Unfortunately, now as a Husband and a Father, I must desperately, and dishearteningly ask you for your help.

Within the last several years we have had quite a few extremely hard obstacles to overcome, many of which we couldn't. A major issue we are currently dealing with is the deteriorating condition of our home.....Caused by unseen roof leaks, that have created unrepairable decayed structural problems, resulting in collapsing floors, mold and decay, unsupported shifting walls, and ceilings that are caving in; Which will very soon, create an uninhabitable living space. We truly are a rainstorm away from becoming homeless. I see many friends and acquaintances in my travels, and as always, they ask "How are you doing?" to which I usually reply, "I'm fine", " I'm blessed", or simply "I'm Surviving"..... but that is most often not the case. It is a terrifying feeling to not have any control over your life, or the health and safety of your family. Since right before COVID, we have saved enough finances to replace the roof 4 separate times....each time, an uncontrollable situation would take our funds, causing us to start over each time. One such time was Covid's beginning months in which my business was gone, only having made $12 in two weeks time....it was definitely not enough to support a 6 person household....so... the funds were simply used to survive on. So now, the problem is not to replace the roof, but to evacuate, as the structure will not support a new roof, and is not repairable. Even after the band-aids we've placed into the dwelling, it is only a matter of time...

Through the generosity and grateful opportunity given by a friend, We are desperately hopeful to have been given a chance at a possible new home.

We have a chance to purchase a small piece of land, with a home, and storage buildings, providing safety and security to my family. We are in desperate need of financial help to come up with the down payment needed to secure and move into the home. The down payment is $16,000 and honestly feels like a terrifyingly far and unreachable goal. As much as it breaks my heart to have to create this GoFundMe page.....I humbly and sincerely ask for your help, so that I can provide my wife and children with a safe, dry, and secure place to call home.
