A memorial scholarship fund has been established to honor the life and dedication to learning of our beloved father, husband, brother and friend, Donald D. Hitz.
Don was a lifelong educator, mentor and coach, and shared a passion for advancing the success of our youth. He was especially sensitive to those who have the odds packed against them ... kids who face unique challenges, who are underpriviledged or perhaps come from broken homes. You see, Don was one of those kids and his success in life was largely due to people who supported him and gave him a chance. Our hope is that this scholarship can give a worthy recipient(s) a chance to accomplish their goals and put them on a path to success!
All donations to this fund will go toward future graduating senior(s) of Heritage Hills High School, where his two sons, Gabe (11th grade) and Jordan (9th grade), attend. Olivia, his daughter, graduated from there in May, 2015 and currently attends Indiana University.
