Hi, I'm Karen. My son is 14 yrs old and has Down Syndrome. He got excluded from various activities over the years due to activity leaders not being able to include him in mainstream activity. There are many other teenagers with special needs in the same position.

We then found Hitchin Choices!!

This Christmas tree/Post-box/bollard topper is raising funds for Hitchin Choices, a special needs youth club that meets to support young people to learn social skills and enjoy activities they are often excluded from.

On a Friday night, come rain or shine, the youths with Down Syndrome and other special needs, get together and play games, play music, bake cookies, get down with the groove, and generally have a wonderful time (with parents in the parents room keeping an occasional eye out and supporting the leaders).

These funds are to help us broaden the activities to include e.g. gym, animal encounters, artists, photography lessons etc.....all delivered by professionals who are trained in special needs techniques.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, is very welcomed.
