Why am I here? Please bear with me... It is because of the driver of this vehicle right here. As you can see there was beer in the outside of the vehicle, what this picture does not show is the beer that fell out of the inside of the vehicle as they brought this vehicle right-side up. What this picture does not tell is the fact that the driver of this vehicle, after being pulled out by a good Samaritan, the driver was ABLE to flee the scene (later arrested, though, however). What this picture does not detail is the fact that the driver LEFT his own flesh and blood MOTHER in the passenger side of the vehicle.
What did that driver hit? This vehicle right here... with two female passengers in the driver and passenger seats.
Both individuals had to be extricated by firefighters from the vehicle.
What happened to these women? That is why I am here, that is why I started this GOFUNDME page... that is why I am asking for your help. The Fire Department took these pictures as they had to "removed both doors and rolled the dash to remove the driver"
You see these women are mother & daughter and such fighters! They were keep under sedation for 3-4 days after having emergency surgery. They have many surgeries and physical therapy to come as this just happened on April 28th, 2018.
We are doing all we can, as well as their co-workers, for Paid-Time-Off and FMLA... but there is still rent, co-pays and other expenses that were not expected and on limited funds given their current situation.
Unfortunately, the District Attorney's office is not able to charge the driver of this truck with a DUI because he fled the scene and apparently he needed to be tested within three (3) hours of the accident to be deemed "intoxicated..." which is hard to do since he fled the scene.
***His mother was uncooperative in providing information about her son and was ttansported for medical care... however We have found out that this was not his first hit-and-run and more than likely this will not be his last if justice is not served.
This is where we need your help, any little bit helps, it has been twelve (12) days since they have been in the hospital and there is no time-frame yet of when they will be able to be released as they are still in & out of surgery.
As mentioned above, It was a mother, Ruby, and daughter, Catalina, involved. Both have had multiple surgeries including thier feet, ankle, stomach, clavical, wrist and finger... to name few. They had no neurological damage which is a miracle given this was a head-on collision. It is a miracle they are alive and we are all so thankful.
