On the Fourth of July, while taking my friend home in Memphis, someone ran a red light, slammed into my car, and sped off, leaving us in a hit-and-run. I had a perfect driving record, and now my car is completely totaled. The person responsible hasn’t been found, and unfortunately, my insurance isn’t covering the damages, because I only had liability.

That car was one of the only things I had to my name, and now it's gone. To make things even harder, I also lost my job shortly after. Without a car, I can't get to interviews or start another job, which means I have no income at all.

The hardest part is that I’m now dangerously close to having to sell my horse, Ginger. She’s been my source of comfort and companion through everything, and I can’t stand the thought of losing her too. Right now, I can’t even afford her board, much less other bills that have to be paid, such as medical bills.
